Masai Mara Safari — 3 Days / 2 Nights.
Witness Africa's greatest wildlife spectacle across three thrilling days in the legendary Masai Mara — home to the Big Five, the Great Migration, and endless golden savannah.

Overview
The Masai Mara National Reserve is the crown jewel of African safari destinations — a 1,510-square-kilometre expanse of rolling savannah, acacia woodland and meandering rivers that flows seamlessly into Tanzania's Serengeti to form one of the planet's most extraordinary ecosystems. This three-day, two-night safari delivers the full Mara experience: multiple game drives at the prime golden hours, a chance to witness the world-famous wildebeest migration if you travel in season, and the magic of falling asleep under African skies to the calls of nocturnal wildlife.
Whether you choose the more sociable group-joining safari or the flexibility of a private safari, your trip is led by an experienced KPSGA-accredited driver-guide in a custom 4×4 land cruiser with a pop-up roof for unrestricted viewing and photography. We use carefully selected mid-range safari camps or tented lodges set just outside or inside the reserve, putting you within minutes of the action at first light.
Highlights
- Multiple expertly guided dawn and dusk game drives across the Mara's open plains and riverine corridors
- Chance to witness the Great Wildebeest Migration and dramatic Mara River crossings (July–October)
- Track all of the Big Five — lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino — in one of Africa's densest predator habitats
- Optional Maasai cultural village visit for an authentic, respectful encounter with the iconic Maa people (small extra fee paid directly to the village)
- Optional hot-air balloon safari at sunrise followed by a champagne bush breakfast (extra charge — bookable on request)
- Comfortable accommodation in a mid-range tented camp or safari lodge with full board
- Custom 4×4 land cruiser with guaranteed window seat and pop-up roof for game viewing
- Round-trip transport from Nairobi via the scenic Great Rift Valley escarpment
Day-by-Day Itinerary
- Day 1: Depart Nairobi after breakfast, descending the dramatic Rift Valley escarpment en route to the Mara. Arrive in time for lunch at camp, then head out for an afternoon game drive on the plains. Dinner and overnight at the camp.
- Day 2: Full day in the reserve with a packed-lunch option that lets you stay out tracking wildlife from sunrise through the afternoon. Excellent opportunity for predator sightings and (in season) river crossings. Return to camp for sundowners and dinner.
- Day 3: Early-morning game drive — often the most rewarding — followed by breakfast, check-out, and the scenic return drive to Nairobi, arriving by late afternoon.
Wildlife You Can Expect to See
The Mara holds the highest density of lions in Africa and is one of the most reliable places on the continent for big-cat sightings. Look out for the famous Marsh Pride lions, cheetahs hunting on the open plains, and leopards in the riverine forests along the Talek and Mara rivers. Elephant herds, buffalo, hippos, masai giraffes, topi, eland, hartebeest, Thomson's and Grant's gazelles, warthogs, hyenas, and black-backed jackals are all regular sights, alongside more than 450 recorded bird species.
Best Time to Visit
The Mara is rewarding year-round, but July through October is widely considered the optimum window — dry weather, vegetation thinned out for visibility, and the wildebeest migration in full force. January–February offers superb game viewing with mild weather and far fewer crowds. The "green season" of April–May brings dramatic skies, newborn calves and excellent birdlife at lower rates.
